Connect the dots, tra-la-la... Let's play a little game of connect-the-dots:
Richard Perle, Ahmed Chalabi, and the INC are in it for the oil. Both played the U.S. government _and_ the Iranians. Here's how it worked: Chalabi passed Perle information about Iraq (mostly false), Perle passed U.S. government secrets (mostly true), with the following objectives:
1.) Secure access to and a stake in Iraqi oil, and
2.) Secure access to and a stake in Iranian oil.
The plan was to invade Iraq quickly, then go after Iran. Both men were in on it, whether or not it went beyond that is unknown, but it's possible the Saudis knew and tacitly approved (or at least some Saudi citizens).

There, got that out of my system. I think the Office of Special Plans would approve of my seeing the "intelligence" in a new light...
