Here are two links, the first to a Common Dreams article about U.S. efforts to make tactical nuclear weapons a more viable option in conventional battles in the War on Terrorism, and the second is a Debka search for articles containing the phrase "tactical nulcear weapons". Finally, there's a link an article about research into using tactical nuclear weapons in Vietnam. At the top of the article's page, there's a .pdf download of a report by the JASON group of the Institue for Defense Analyses which is used as a basis for the article (physics buffs will recognize Freeman Dyson as one of the authors). Together these provide some background on the issue I discussed in the post below:
