Ahh, meat. It tastes so good when a person gets to the meat of the matter. Three quotes in particular:
"Did Saddam tolerate terrorists? Yes. Was there any evidence Saddam was involved with 9/11? No." - unnamed senior Bush Administration official.
"Were there meetings? Yes, of course there were meetings. But what resulted? Nothing. . ." - unnamed senior Bush Administration official.
"if we go there, it would be his agenda, not ours." - Osama Bin Laden, on why he didn't accept Iraq's offer of refuge in 1998.
To make it perfectly clear:
There was no operational connection between Saddam Hussein and Al-Qaeda.
Where is Hussein, anyway? I mean, has the Red Cross been granted access to see him? Will we ever see him again? It's in the best interest of the world to hear his side of the story.
