The New Yorker "Fact" section is exceptional, this time Jon Lee Anderson writes about an Iraqi doctor and artist, Ala Bashir, and his unique relationship with Saddam Hussein. I recommend reading this story in conjuction with an earlier Atlantic Monthly article about Hussein and a current article about Hitler's personal library, his love of books and fascination with religion.
