And it begins, well it actually began a long time ago -- the word is out in the ether that the U.S. government is planning an invasion of Iran and also North Korea after it finishes with Iraq (assuming that that happens in the next year or so). Anyway, George McGovern is convinced that it'll happen, and he's certainly not the only one. When taken in concert with intelligence community reports that the Bush administration wanted them to "cook the books" to justify a war with Iraq (example: this report in the Washington Post), we've got some interesting vibes coming out of Washington. We at the Node have been standing back from this for awhile, but since the chatter about it is starting to heat up we'll watch and see what happens. Maybe Hersh will give us all some guidance on this point? Stay tuned...
